Carbon Steel Plates are flat steel products made primarily from iron and carbon, widely used in construction and industrial applications due to their high strength, durability, and cost-effectiveness. The amount of carbon in the steel determines its hardness and strength—low carbon steel is more ductile and easy to weld, while medium and high carbon steel offer higher strength and wear resistance but lower flexibility. Carbon steel plates typically contain 0.05% to 2.0% carbon, along with small amounts of manganese, silicon, and other elements to improve mechanical properties. They provide good tensile strength, machinability, and structural stability, making them suitable for heavy-duty applications. However, compared to stainless steel, they have lower corrosion resistance, so they often require protective coatings like paint or galvanizing.
