SS321
SS321 (also known as SUS321 / 1.4541 / UNS S32100) is a titanium‑stabilized austenitic stainless steel that resists intergranular corrosion after exposure to high temperatures (up to ~870 °C). The addition of titanium binds carbon and nitrogen, preventing chromium carbide formation at grain boundaries and preserving corrosion resistance in welded or high‑heat environments.
Typical Applications
SS321 is widely used where high‑temperature strength and corrosion resistance are critical:
- Aerospace & Jet Engine Components – exhaust systems, thermal structures.
- Heat Exchangers & Boilers – tubes, shells, combustion parts.
- Chemical & Petrochemical Equipment – process vessels, piping exposed to high heat and corrosive media.
- Furnace & Thermal Processing Parts – expansion joints, furnace baskets, heater tubing.
- Welded Fabrications – structures exposed to cyclic heating or sensitization.
